Janet L. "Candy" Bowles Obituary (1967

JANET L."Candy" BOWLES, was born on March 16, 1967 in Columbus Ohio. She sadly departed this life on December 22, 2024, in the comfort of her own home, with her family. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Joyce (William Delaney) Bowles, daughter Tyshawna, granddaughter Tovalayiona, nephew Terrance, aunt Deleve, cousin Butch, and brother Big Frank. She leaves to cherish her memory; daughters, Teaira (Don) Haley, Trina, and Tova Bowles; son, Tyree; sisters, Velencia (Kay), and Coretha (Cookie); brothers, William (Bill) Mary, Michael (Beverly), and Charles (Chuckie) Bowles; grandchildren, Don' Asia, Deve'ny, Tova, Darius, and Dakari; nieces, Terlinzinca, Erica, Shawnta, Seqouia, and Shada; nephews, Michael (Namestank), William (Whoop), Frank, Terrell (Tj), Tyshawn (Pistol), Justin, Eugene (Bubba), Michael Jr., Christopher, Bill, Kevin, and CC, C3; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins; special cousins, Sheena and Alice (Binky); special niece, Nefa; and special friends, Laura and Ralph (Pumpkin) Dempsey, and others, too many to mention. Candy was something unforgettable, a tremendous force to be reckoned with, especially when it came to being a Mother, Sister, Cousin, Aunt and Best Friend. To briefly describe her: she was Beautiful, Fearless Independent, Spontaneous, Strong, Brave, Supportive, Loving, Fun, and Creative: she could make something out of nothing. She was all about family and did not play when it came to them, her kids in particular. Her favorite colors were black and blue, and some of her favorite things to do were to smoke her weed (joints), have a few brews and P.A.R.T.Y. with the fam. Traveling was her newest pastime. Candy became El Jante on her latest trip to Puerto Rico. She also loved horror movies, playing in the dark, and rain was also her favorite forecast. From the ,outside looking in, one would never know, because of the humorous, bright, bubbly, and beautiful spirit she carried around, an overall true warrior. There are so many things we could say about our mom, but to sum it all up, she was the original Candy lady if you know you know. One of a kind.
