Major Herman David Presley Obituary (1951

HERMAN DAVID PRESLEY, age 72, passed away March 2, 2024, at Tuscany Gardens, a short-term rehabilitation center after fighting issues from a stroke. Major was born June 22, 1951 in Ohio, son of Herman and Alma Presley. Over his lifetime, he went to multiple colleges and got several degrees, all while holding down a full-time job and doing what he loved best, serving in the U.S. Army. This was an individual who started out as a Private and made it to Staff Sergeant. As if that wasn' t hard enough, he went to officers' school where he worked his way up through the ranks, receiving many awards to become a Major. He married Linda Harper, September 26, 1987, and had a home built in Gahanna, Ohio, where they still live to this day. Linda and Major loved doing things outdoors, traveling, going to concerts, and watching NFL and college football. This was definitely a DIE-HARD Ohio State Buckeye home. They would frequent local Amvets, American Legion, or VFW for dinner and music. Major had a lifetime membership at each of these military clubs. Major is survived by his wife, Linda Presley; son, Todd Presley; grandson, David James Presley; his 2 sisters, Pam Presley and Jeanne Wise; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., Friday, March 15 at COOK & SON - PALLAY FUNERAL HOME, 1631 Parsons Ave., where the afternoon will conclude with military honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
