Penni Sue Root Obituary (1960

PENNI SUE ROOT, 64, of Whitehall, was ushered into her Heavenly home on Sunday, March 30, 2025, ending a long battle with cancer. She was born April 5, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Harold C. and Evelyn (Wilburn) Harber Sr. Penni was a devoted mother to sons Nathaniel (Teresa) Lemons, of Urbana, and Matthew (Jaime) Lemons Sr, of Urbana, her pride and joy. She always said their birth changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided. Penni is also survived by her loving grandchildren. Penni was preceded in death by brother Harold C. Harber Jr, of Chillicothe, and is survived by family members who will never forget the love she brought to their lives: sister, Kathy (Shawn) Boyd, of Whitehall; sister-in-law Donna Harber, of Chillicothe; brothers, David (Anna) Harber, of Lockbourne, Charles (Martha) Harber Sr, of Obetz, and Glen (Daniel Maxwell) Harber, of London, UK; and a huge number of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends whom she cherished. Penni had worked and retired from a career as a school bus driver, a career she loved. Penni is remembered by countless students and colleagues as a caring influence. One of her greatest joys in life was the spending time with family and friends, making the atmosphere wholesome and welcoming to everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, the way she lit up a room with joy and compassion. We will miss the laughs, the stories, the love she has always shown, and the blessing she was to all she came in contact with. Services are being held for Penni on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 at COOK & SON - PALLAY FUNERAL HOME, 1631 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH 43207. Visitation and service will be held between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 P.M., with Jarrod Harber officiating.
