Raejeanne (Melick) Booker Obituary (1962

RaeJeanne Melick Booker, born June 7, 1962 to Ronald K. Melick and Cheryl K. Melick in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord January 15, 2016. Beloved mother of Ricky, she is also survived by her sisters Leslie Melick & LeeAnne Godderer, and many other relatives and friends. Growing up, RaeJeanne was competitive, enjoyed the outdoors, and loved to make the best of every moment. She participated in volleyball while in high school and was a graduate of Frederick Town High School. In her adult years, RaeJeanne was known to be a fun-loving, life-of-the-party spirit who brought a smile and burst of energy with her wherever she went. RaeJeanne was a believer in Christ and treated everyone with love. Even in the midst of working through her own battles, she did what she could to try to keep those around her in happy spirits. Whether it be a warm, hearty hug or a simple "How you doin' honey?", she showed compassion and concern for those near to her and dear to her. RaeJeanne brought plenty of love, laughter, and joy to all of those who knew her. RaeJeanne loved to be around family and in good company. She enjoyed cooking big meals and hosting family dinners and gatherings. One of her best dishes was her peppered steak with gravy and rice, which she would cook for her nieces whenever they asked. She spent some of her time invested in hobbies such as fishing, camping, and playing horseshoe. More than anything, she loved her son, Ricky. Many of her Autumn evenings consisted of cowbells, megahorns, and whistles as she cheered on "Little Ricky" at his high school football games. She attended every one of them. She is forever loved and will be deeply missed. Memorial Service 4 p.m. Saturday at COOK & SON-PALLAY FUNERAL HOME, 1631 Parsons Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in c/o the funeral home.
