Virginia Stephens

–

Columbus, Ohio

Virginia Lee Stephens, 68, departed her physical life on earth, at home surrounded by family late Thursday morning on November 13th, 2025.

Virginia was the youngest of 5, born in Columbus, Ohio, to Carl & Geneva Stephens on February 21st, 1957. Commonly known as “Lee”, “Lee-Lee” or “Nana”, she wasn’t too keen on being called by her real name, those who knew her, knew. There are so many things to share to honor her memory, good and bad, she was a person just like everyone, no perfect person exists. With one small mention to honor her memory for being a chatty gossiping woman, a characteristic seen in women long before her time. The context of her chatter is only meant for representation to support details of the woman she was. Lee was a loving and caring home maker being a stay home mother to 3. Additionally later raising her two granddaughters too. Her natural loving character could be seen in her adoration for her pets, treating them just as if they were one of her own. Gardening filled her with enjoyment and accomplishment, full of admiration for the beauty of all the blossoming flowers from the work of her green thumb. The achievement worth her talks would be about her flower gardens with the hummingbirds they brought near, she strived for the sighting of the humming hummingbirds. The symbolism of her character and the things that brought her joy define the nurturing woman she was. The most sincere details that are significant to her family and friends.

Lee is survived by daughters Michelle Montgomery (Victor) and Crystal Baker (Rick). Grandchildren; Sophia Yerian (Alisha), Jacob, Johnathon, Cara Yerian-Holley (Alan), Joey, Joel and Kaleb, and 10 great grandkids. Carol Williams is Lee’s last surviving sibling, her older sister. Her memory will be carried in the hearts of many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends of plenty, including a special friend, Jack.

Lee is preceded in death by her only son, Carl Yerian Jr., mother and father Carl and Geneva Stephens and her 3 brothers, Roy, Lloyd and Wayne.

Viewing and Funeral Service will be held at Cook & Son-Pallay Funeral Home Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 at 1pm. Graveside Committal and Prayer will follow directly after to Obetz Cemetery at 3pm.
